Default BEGi S1 Turbo Install

Hello everyone! I'm new to the forum. I've decided to turbo my miata. I've owned my car since 2009 and I've been reading for a while on other miata forums on how to turbo a miata and all the stuff thats needed.

I've chosen the BEGi S1 turbo kit for, it looks reliable and good for the power I'm looking for. I know though, that the kit doesn't include all the little things needed to make it run perfectly.

I'm going to get a AFPR to run 5 PSI for now, I'll deal with ECU's later when I upgrade the clutch and I'm making more power.

Other than that, I read Im going to need a new PVC valve from a mazdaspeed miata.

Is there any other little items/mods that I might be missing?

Thanks for the help and hopefully I'll be posting pictures soon when I start the build.

Manuel

You've been reading in the wrong place. Read here, then buy a megasquirt.

1st mod you need to make...ditch the gay bar. Get a real roll bar in there.

Oh oh.

Do you mean "a real roll bar" like a Hard Dog or a Boss Frog, or do you mean the "real-roll-bar-with-racing-seat-and-full-harness-otherwise-don't-bother-with-a-roll-bar-since-it-will-kill-you-the-first-chance-it-gets" that is often prescribed?

Inquiring minds want to know ....

^there is always a debate, usually on m.net, that a rollbar in a street car is more dangerous than not having it because in the case of being slammed into by another car your head will get knocked right into the bar that is just a few inches from your head. Some people really fret over this but I have yet to see a report of it actually happening in real life.

^ If I remember correctly that's why I went with the ace bar...it allegedly sits a little further back than the other hard dog roll bars. A roll bar was the first modification I did after buying my Miata.

LOL, gtfo. Are you seriously a proponent of a style bar? Or even just not having a roll bar on a 200+whp convertible from the 90's ?
