Default BEGI S2, upgrade to MS from FMU?

My BEGI S2 for my 90 1.6 finally got here...kinda, some parts missing, the main one their Fuel system. I am seriously considering asking them to upgrade me to the the MS pnp and forget the FMU. If I do, is it worth it to delete the AFM also?

Yes, get rid of the AFM just to remove complexity of the turbo intake tract but take into consideration how they built your intake tube, it might need to be modified.
Go MSPNP man, its worth it.

Theoretically, couldn't i just build a pipe the same size as the AFM and do away with it, leaving the rest of the kit the same???''

Hopefully try to get ahold of Stephanie today and figure it all out!

You could, and I even have a substitute pipe that would do that. But I wouldn't. For looks alone, let's build a new inlet tube. I think looking at a black tube is nicer than looking at 4 more clamps, a silver tube, and two more pieces of turbo hose.

As a side note, when switching to a AFM/MAF - less kit, we also change the Throttle inlet tube and Cool Air box (on the 1.6L only). The TBI tube needs the air temp sensor bung too. Otherwise, everything else is the same.
