Default Clarifications on an AEM Wideband...

OK... Seeing that my A/F ratios are all whacked and if I am going to move forward with tuning this thing and not have to go to the dyno every other damn day... I am going to have to break down and go ahead and buy a wide band sensor and a real A/F gauge. I have read a little about this one and this auction seems like a good deal...

Is that a good price?

Also regarding installation... I know a lot of people weld an additional bung a few feet down stream of the original narrow band O2 sensor, however my dual exhaust comes with a bung already in it that is located in the mid-pipe. I now have it plugged up with a brass plug. I assume that it is ok to install the wide band sensor in this location.

Thanks in advance for any help.

AEM UEGO gauge type widebands can be had all over in the $275 range. I picked up mine from MVP Motorsports, a well known and trustworthy vendor.

As far as mounting is concerned, the rules are:

1. Mount the bung where it will see the most consistent gas temperatures. Right before the cat is a good place. AEM includes a bung in the box for you if needed. Keep the bung at least 18" from the exhaust ports.

2. The tip of the sensor must be the lowest part, at no less than a 10-15 degree angle.
