People with turbo has stressed to get an EGT gauge, what dose it really do to monitor gas/exhaust temperate?

 

It used to be be the only way people could determine correct A/F mixtures, now a wideband will do that.

 

I had one on my '92 Turbo with the wideband. I used them to tell the correct A/F ratio and the EGT for an extra saftey with the timming. I always knew if my timing was too far retarded or advanced due to the EGTs
