I think the black wheels with my black/blue paint scheme will all come together in the end. I have a image in my head and I can only hope it comes out how I think it will.
I really hope so man. The last time I drove the miata was over a year and a half ago.

So obviously the car is still not done.
But at least I've been too busy with work to be thinking about it so much. I spent the better half of yesterday and today working on it to help move things along.
Hardtop is tinted, just need to scuff up the latches and spray them black. I used the rest of the dynamat I had to cover the majority of the rear shelf. Test fit the carpet and made the holes for the rollbar and subs. And now that the soft top is out I figured I would sand down the nasty rails and spray them black so they wouldn't look like ****.
The kid that works for the bodyshop took care of the mesh for the bumpers, hood, and TSI's. Now all that's left is really just some primer, wet sanding, and paint. Ohhh....and a new windshield seeing as I ripped the rear view mirror off the frame and threw it at the window.
Dyno guy is all set and said he's ready when I am.....whenever that may be. I should have my car back just in time to cover it for the winter.

I was going to hold off on updating anything until the car was completely painted, but what the ****.
Today the front/rear bumpers, trunk spoiler, and rear panel are going in the booth. Tomorrow the car is going in the booth. Wednesday the new windshield goes in. And throughout all this I will be putting the interior back together for good and slapping on the 6UL's.
The plan is to go to DMV tomorrow and get a temp registration so I can have some time to have it tuned and pass emissions. Hopefully this will all be over by the weekend. lol
The black on the hood and headlights is like glass, and I really think the windshield frame looks 10x better black to match the hardtop. I cant wait to see the car back together for the first time!

Haven't checked this in a while, looking pretty good Vash. A couple things you've done aren't my cup o' tea, but it's your car. The important thing is that it's clean!
Nice wheels BTW, I have the exact same ones.

I was actually second guessing the bumpers and whether or not I just wanted to slap on some stockers with the R-lips, but I can always do that down the road if it ends up looking too extreme. I hope to have pictures of the car fully painted with the 6UL's on it tomorrow!

Closer and closer to the final product!
The spots on the hood and hardtop are just dirt and dust. I didn't realize in the pictures it would show up looking like the paint was fucked up.
All that's left is to find the clips for the spoiler to put that on. And pretty much just paint the front bumper and put that on.
Today I went to the DMV to get my temp registration and I put insurance on it yesterday. Now I just need to worry about tuning it and passing emissions. The 2 things I've been dreading most since the beginning of this thread.
I should have pictures of the final product tomorrow. I'm already more than happy with it, but once the front bumper is on and its wiped down I have a feeling I'm going to **** a little bit in my pants.

HOLY CRAP! FINALLY!!!!!!
It looks great man. I really like how you did the black hardtop/pillars. That I what I'll be doing on mine too. Very nice combination and proportion of colors.
What will you be doing with your old rims now? Cause I'm looking for a set

A couple more pictures.
Hey Vlad thanks man! I was thinking the black would help the look. If it was all blue and I had these headlights, hood, bumper, etc, that it would look too overdone. The black helps hide that a little bit.
I will be selling the old wheels ASAP. Let me know if you are interested dude. I'll give you a good deal.

Man! That's looking VERY nice.
I'm seriously waiting for the day I click on this thread and the post on the bottom says you are driving it. Long wait but looks like it's going to be worth it.

Nice.
What is the story with the front bumper structure bracketry? Is that stock (never had my cover off)?
The Black 6ULs look awesome on the blue car. The nickle wouldn't have looked as nice.

Thanks guys
The car has kyb/agx with FM springs and FM pillow mounts in the rear. It always sat low on the sportmaxx setup, but even I thought it looked a little higher with the 6UL's. Not sure if its just the lighting in the booth or what.
The bracket in the front that holds the IC and the front bumper was made by the bodyshop guys a couple months ago. The steel beam welded in to the front of the car was put there a couple years ago after I hit a telephone pole. The guys at the shop gave me a hard time about it and put that in as a joke.
I hope to be driving it for good by the weekend. I just pray everything goes smooth at the dyno shop and they can tune it for me in ***** mode to pass emissions, then tune it again to 10-12psi. I hope to make somewhere around 200whp from this setup....for now at least. Anything more than that is a plus.

<-----changing underwear.
seriously, it's been a long time coming, hopefully this early congrats won't jinx you, congrats!
ONLY thing I'd say is maybe tint the rear lights black. Dunno if you've already ruled it out, but it would follow the black hood/lights theme you have going on.
