Default Garrett turbos..

What A/R turbine housing is normally used with the G25-550 series? If upgrading to G25-660, what would be recommended? .49, .72 or .92

What does a blue car cost?

We need more info. Displacement, type of fuel, power goals, upgrading from what?

2011 NC model -late engine series with the stronger internals. Currently has one of Dynotronics MK2 kits installed. Not sure the exact turbo used here...make/A/R etc. Water/meth system installed as well. Just curious how far this engine can go -psi max etc. Runs really strong right now. Got an oil leak issue need to address...not clear what the source of that is.

thanks

On a NC, I would probably go with the .72 AR housing. Garrett is the onl G25 vendor with the .48 housing, all the chinese copies (booshiwheel, pulsar, RAC) all have .72 housing

Otherwise there isnt a ton of info about how well they work on NC's out there.

I suspect that is the housing on the current turbo. Need to disect things and determine that and fix the oil issue. This youtuber
has an awesome channel and did a side by side analysis of the next size up turbo of hp and lag. Data suggest the bigger turbo is the way to go. I may try a G25-660 with the tighter A/R at some point. Would love to do an LS or even LT swap though.

Just know BP motor is nothing like the NC motor. Did you build your 2.0 or build a 2.5? I have a 2.5 swap in my 06, that eventually will be getting a G25. I have 4 of them on the shelf in my garage.

BP motor? Which one is that? Fella above got to 500hp using that EFR 6758 before the main caps gave way. He was pushing over 30psi into it though. Not sure what all he had done to the engine prior to that though...I just subscribed to his channel. Mine is 2.0L from 2011. Apparently, 2 editions of the engine were made that year. The one I got is the stronger one.

The BP series motors were used in the 90-05 NA and NB Miatas. Substantially different platform than the subsequent motors put in the NCs. We're kinda comparing apples to oranges here.

Thoughts on any advantages using the twin scroll type turbo? I understand a specific manifold would be required and couldn't source one doing the google deal. Apparently, my old AGGIE buddy, Corky Bell, offerered something at one point.

thanks again
