That's not to say I support buying an M45 -- those blowers are too small even for a 1.6. Power is addictive, and I've never met anyone who put a blower/turbo/etc on his car and didn't want to bump the power just a bit more after a while. With the M45 that's it, you're done, you have to throw it away to get more. MP62 is a more reasonable idea. --Ian My DD is a Sienna van, and I'm pretty sure it is in fact faster than my thoopacharged 1.6 Miata. As you can tell I only drive the manliest of vehicles. |
Heck, I managed to get my M45 setup for $550 (and then a second one for about the same, need to re-sell that...). I am just building the car with exactly the same supporting mods as needed for a turbo build. Sometime down the road, I will dump the 1.6 and super, add 1.8 and turbo and go from there. It will be fun comparing my car and my friends who's is turbo (or will be when they are both done in a few weeks.)

You could probably sell both those M45's and pay for a 1.8 swap and 6 speed lol. I've seen people pounce on full kits for like 1200-1500 with all the fuel cards etc.
