Got any bits?????
I hate it when a project goes kazoo!!!
Bought a 2nd hand TDO4 (16G) to do turbo conversion - somewhere between it leaving whatever car it originally came off, and me having the housings clocked to allow fitment, it turns out the bearing housing is cracked, and the compressor wheel has been forced against the housing, bending it beyond repair. It may have been dropped, or it may have been belted or the guy across the road (see below) thinks it would take an accident to do that sort of damage - not sure.....
While it is somewhat lucky that the guy across the road is a turbo mechanic, I may still need to source some bits.
Anyone here possibly got some spare parts that they feel like sending to Australia?
And it has to be the TDo4 - the manifold and dump pipe are all sized to fit.....

How's this for things going from bad to magnificent?????
As an adjunct to my post above, it turns out that the neighbour of mine (who shall remain nameless) and happens to be a turbo mechanic was able to take all the busted bits - source a replacement (reconditioned) bearing housing, new compressor wheel, new bearing, etc.
He was also able to fully service the whole internals - including sandblasting and glass shot peening the turbine wheel, de-carboning and polishing the turbine shaft, and fully balancing the whole thing.
It IS effectively a brand new turbo, and all done for an amazing price (which I have sworn to take to my grave).
Sometimes it just pays BIG TIME to be friends with the people in your neighbourhood......
