If you're not already done by now, I found it helpful to drop the power steering rack. Didn't remove it altogether, just pulled the fluid lines, the shaft and the four bolts holding it to the subframe, then let it dangle by the tie rods. Ditto with the A/C compressor if you have that problem, except don't remove the lines of course.

well hand drilling a piolt hole then renting a right angle drill then some tugging on AC lines then half a tube later of JB weld my oil return is drying...
