How much are you looking to spend on your intercooler setup? The easiest solution would be buying Stripes's kit:
http://www.mx5projects.com/Greddy%20Intercooler.asp
Comes with T-clamps, reinforced rubber, a kick-*** mounting bracket, good welds, perfect fit, nice finish. Plus install is an absolute breeze. No guessing the size of the intercooler, ports, bungs, etc.
Yes you can do it yourself:
Pipes:
5-2.5" 90* bends
1 - 2.5" Tight radius 90* bend
1 - 2.5" straight
2 - 2.0" 90* bends
1 - 2.0" tight 180* bend
1 - 2.0" straight
Clamps and couplers:
3 - 2.0" couplers
1 - 2.0"-2.5" coupler
6 - 2.5" couplers
18 - T-clamps
Intercooler
1 - Intercooler
Bungs
1 - IAC port
1 - BOV port
brackets
2 - lengths of aluminum
Add the cost of supplies and time of measuring, welding, cutting, fitting, mounting, finishing and see if it's really worthwhile to make a setup of your own.
I have personal experince installing this kit. And I've had personal experience with DIY pipes of my own. When I was install stripe's pipes I wish it was as easy and simple for my own build.

Well, I'm sure it would absolutely be easier to buy Stripe's kit. It would be even easier to just put in a new crossover.
Using the classic formula I'd factor in my hourly wage to come up with the total cost. But then again, I pay to play baseball and this would be at least partly recreational so does that really compute?
I have no frickin' clue. There are a whole bunch of options. I do not like the idea of running the tubes underneath the radiator or I might go for a cheap JB setup that's available. I don't want to see that dirt road to nowhere and not be able to take it--and I have.
$600 is a bit much for me at the moment. Also, I don't think I need 18x6x2.5 for 6psi and I'm blocking airflow from the radiator. I can go much smaller if I roll my own. A BOV is also on the shopping list so I have to factor that in.
At this point, I'm completely at a loss as to how to proceed. Swamped with options and possibilities you might say.
Cheers, Jon

I can probably get you under 200 on that, but I'll have to check my price list when I'm in the office.
Feel free to give me a call at the shop tomm, (866) 845-1807, ask for Sean
