Sorry for the absence. Time difference.

Niklas: I will be in Sweden on vacation during the summer and it would be sweet to join you guys at some track some weekend. I’ll work on it.

M2cupcar: Hopefully this summer, but it is a bit of a trip, since Nürburg is about 3-4 hours from Nürnberg where I live. You are not the first to make the mistake. I am looking forward to Hockenheim more, to be honest. F1-track FTW!

Savington: Guess you need to learn the language of heroes and glory...

Seriously, thanks for the feedback guys. One step closer to boost.

Why don't you give the car a german licence plate - at least there are some Kits TÜV-aproved over here. (Maybe you can even go back to a swedish licence plate later if averything is in your papers?)

Since the car is just privatly imported, as part of house hold and tull + tax free, the car may not be sold or registrated in another country for one year. Besides, I will be returning to Sweden in max a few years.

I wouldnt personally bother with the turbo replacement pipe. Removing the manifold and dp takes maybe 20 minutes and you get a lot less risk of getting "typbesiktning" - ie having the car totally restored to stock, and getting a certificate on that from Mazda and then going back for re inspection.

Good luck

We have sold a few systems in Finland and The Netherlands. If the system met the CARB EO Specs, they allowed it. Would that be a possibility for you? A kit with a CARB EO?

Hi Stephanie,

Unfortunately: No. The Swedish rules are very clear: "There must be no modifications to the car that can have an effect on the exhaust values." Thats it. No CAI, no larger wheels, no changed gearing, no aftermarket CAT and so on. All that is fun is forbidden... pretty much.

I'd just remove it each year. Shouldn't be more than 1-2 hours to remove turbo and dp. Intercooler can stay installed. You could make a wiring adapter for your (aftermarket?) ecu to easily go back to stock. You might even be able to keep the (aftermarket) ecu, they usually pass a sniff test without any problems.
