NB with aircon and power steering hotside charge piping

Turbo can't be clocked down.

Radiator hoses, power steering and air conditioning ---- all in the way.

I have the earlier headlights so I can't use the hole behind them.

Without cutting up the car or moving the radiator, it looks like I may have to run a pipe down between the two thermofans.

Any pointers at all?

:vash:

FML I even posted in the wrong section! :)

moving the radiator is stupid easy, just sayin'

18psi 02-15-2012 11:26 AM

even with the later headlights you still have to enlarge the hole a little bit.

Over the rad ftw.

only downside to over rad is the necessity for brackets, shrouding, and high chance of stock fans not fitting if you don't get the positioning just right.

levnubhin 02-15-2012 03:09 PM

No custom brackets, no shrouding and stock fans fit with plenty of clearence with stock rad. T

levnubhin 02-15-2012 03:42 PM

LMAO no comment:giggle:
There's a big difference between "done properly" and "well it works, so...."

timk 02-15-2012 04:22 PM

I have seen builds a lot more "special" than that. :giggle:

levnubhin 02-15-2012 04:22 PM

Guess I need to post more pics for the "experts". Cause you know, I have a history of doing things improperly.

Its half assed. No one is going to argue with you about it, because even a retard will see that its half assed. You have a radiator bolted down on 1 side and a big ass gap between it and the support, and using a tiny ass interfooler as well.
I bet it "works" for you, but I nearly overheated my white car in the summer running it exactly like that, then finally did it right. That was on my 1st setup.

levnubhin 02-15-2012 05:26 PM

Has never over heated, not even when I lived in south Florida so I never bothered with shrouding....

As for upper bracket, it just wasn't in place when I took the pic. Had just finished working on the car. Tiny intercooler works perfectly, unless my iat sensor is lying to me.

Sorry about the bad luck you had bro..... :dunno:

This car has been driven like this for nearly two years and has been driven from FL to the Gap in NC and back, then from FL to NY, then down to VA, then from VA to FL and back and also took it to GA and back twice. So yea I guess it "works" lol

No worries. I'm just warning op of potential issues without shrouding.
Glad it works for you tho.

Fo sho, I know my NA needed shrouding and it had a conventional IC setup. I was prepared to do some shrouding and got lazy. Just haven't bothered cause temps haven't been an issue.

2" piping will go through the hole fine, that's what I use. Not sure if swapping to the 01" headlights is an option. Pictures in my build thread. https://www.miataturbo.net/build-threads-57/mobiuss-build-brotrex-bromex-galore-61242/
