Is it just me or does the manifold have slightly different construction in every picture. Thats some good quality control right there.

Absolutely everything will be included in the Kit.
Turbo
All piping
The inter cooler (By the way, our IC is no cheapo eBay special,we use a CXracing Inter cooler )
Joiners
Clamps
manifold
Downpipe.
Hoses
connectors
Top quality Bosh Type Injectors
A set of Denso ITV24 Iridium Spark plugs
Circular saw
Sniper interface.
TDR Tuned.
Kitchen sink..

You get the point, there will be no short cuts here.

:bowrofl:

Not ebay bro........Ebay bro

I'm dead serious: at first I thought it was a joke. Like FER REALZZ

Ryan_G 11-21-2012 04:25 PM

Yeah I laughed at that as well. I also love how everyone ignored the shitty construction on the mani and the DP. I did not see a signle question about it until like page 8 or 9.

Aren't half the ebay intercoolers from CXracing?

And to be fair Scott, those aren't just any washers holding the turbo on, they're lock washers. They prevent the bolts from backing out.

And to only slightly defend the manifold design, aren't all the FM, BEGI, Artech (mine), and numerous other's log manifolds designed with 1 and 4 pointing right at each other? Granted there's no excuse for #1, which looks like it's pointed slightly up, but it's not like we haven't fabricated shit like this before.

It's not ideal, but it's not the worst thing in the world either. the pulses from #1 and #4 won't collide and implode the manifold, they all pulse at different times and wont have any trouble making the way into the turbo...just not as efficient to round the corners.

at least in the case of the BEGi manifold has a diverter type of thing to angle the pulse into the outlet.

I really want to post up a picture of my absurdflow manifold and downpipe to show what good welds should look like. I find the fact that TDRblackstone does not really answer any of wittyworks questions very funny.

18psi 11-21-2012 05:02 PM

You really think they will care?

C'mon man......Those people are dumber than a bag of dicks.

The big difference is we don't try to pass it off as a top of the line piece and sell it to other people for top dollar.

I posted up a few pictures from when Tim made mine, wittyworks then went and posted a few more pictures of Tim, Abe, and his works. TRDblackstone admitted that yes the weld look good, but that you would have an "argon" charge of around $300 for the bigger manifold.

wittyworks 11-21-2012 07:08 PM

And then I told him that he's wrong again and that it costs more like $50 in actual Argon to weld and backpurge a mani. It costs a lot more to backpurge based on labor alone, because dealing with all the backpurge routing is a pain.

The bottom line is his kit is supposed to be advancing the NC turbo market light years, and if he would have just paid a little more to have a legit fabricator make his mani/dp and put in intercoolers that cost $200 more a piece, he would have a sweet kit.

I have only read a little bit about back purging so far. From what I have learned I can easily see it being time consuming, but should be ultimately worth the effort.

I 100% agree with this. I hope the kit does well and it is great to see more options on the table. I just want to see those manifolds get the welds they deserve. It is still find it funny that he won't provide pictures of the other "1000hp" reliable manifolds and the insides like you asked.

I agree on the IC and piping, but it's still nothing revolutionary.

ITT: Fat Fuck Shitface builds turbo kit.

All that's missing is 9 p-p-p-p-p-p-powercards!!!!!! stacked on one car.

Manifolds are shipped with the turbo welded and bolted together like that, as a drop in package. I like that, except for the WELDS.

Runners 1 & 4 are angled pretty bad, though a tad better in the smaller picture.

The first bend off of the downpipe is a horrible cheater bend, and the weld right above the o2 sensor looks like crap.

He is obviously from a Honda crowd

Say what you like about the FFS method of FI, but one thing you can't say is the kit is badly made. The manifold is superb quality, as are the supporting components.

That is a picture of one of the most current manifolds that went on a customers car back at the end of September. If TDRblackone was to get rid of the tack welds, use inconel studs, and remove the gasket between turbo and manifold I think they have a decent setup.

https://www.miataturbo.net/attachmen...ine=1353596965

Also unless you have real criticism for them, please refrain from attacking them. We have no desire to start wars between m.net and mt.net, even though we all know we are better because we worship cats and they do not.

Braineack 11-22-2012 10:18 AM

the bend on #4 is bad.

Reverant 11-22-2012 10:27 AM

I kinda love the rubber line, especially when its placed next to the turbine housing.

Am I the only one who thinks that the amount of metal remaining on the flange where it mates with the head seems a tad small in certain areas?
