The purpose of the O2 clamp is to interrupt the normal signal from the oxygen sensor to the ECU and substitute a synthetic signal that will either stop the ECU from trying to lean out the mixture you have enriched as you go into boost, or even forcing your ECU to deliver more fuel as the transition from vacuum to boost is made. It will affect the operation of the ECU ONLY until it goes into open loop where it (the ECU)then ignores the signal from the oxygen sensor and relies on pre-programmed internal maps.
