Make a post on m.net saying CORKY RESOLVE MY PROBLEM.
He'll respond, guaranteed. Don't talk any trash or they'll delete it. Just post your problem nicely and it'll be there long enough for him and steph to give it some good attention.

akaryrye 08-27-2007 01:50 AM

ya that would work too

cjernigan 08-27-2007 02:00 AM

If i have noticed anything at m.net it has been corky's willingness to respond to posts in the FI section when his name is in CAPS in the title.

Now that I think about it, Tony hasn't been around here in a while... Just checked his profile, last activity in April.

Anyway, his email address is turbotony2k@yahoo.com. Worth a try.

reckless_abandon 08-27-2007 10:52 AM

i will try that.

When I ordered mine last year, I paid a total of $355 including shipping for the 2-piece downpipe with flexjoint, plus a 2.5" catalytic converter, which was a stainless Magnaflow with the appropriate flanges welded on. I honestly don't recall the exact breakdown of how much each piece cost.

The "normal" Bell downpipes do come with a flex joint, and although they don't specifically state whether the Greddy pipe does, I would assume so. Call BEGI and ask, I suppose.

firedog25 08-27-2007 03:11 PM

Greddy pipe? Flex joint? lol!

He meant the BEGI Greddy Downpipe.

One thing the Tony Pipe has going for it is that it's simple. Less welds means less chance of breaking. I would think the divorced DP that BEGI sells is going to be more prone to cracks.

i actually managed to catch him answering the phone today, and he says he can help me out.

cjernigan 08-27-2007 08:54 PM

Glad to hear it man hope it works out for you.

mtncrvr 08-27-2007 10:11 PM

I'm running a Bell setup and have had some minor issues but they have been more than willing to resolve any issue I've had - they even tuned the car no charge and are supporting their kit as if new (now 8 months later) if I have any issues. Not to be a banner add for them but they will resolve issues if you work with them. Besides Corkey is just fun to talk to.

Mimime 08-28-2007 09:04 PM

OK, here is the spec which Stephenie gave to me!

The downpipe does come with a flex joint and new gaskets. It also comes with a WB O2 bung already. If it is not needed, there is an O2 plug in the parts bag. The stock O2 bung is located in the upper portion of the downpipe, real close to the stock location. The second bung is located near the flex joint for the WB O2 sensor.

So, Begi does seems to win over at the price point also.

reckless_abandon 08-29-2007 01:59 AM

i'm jealous. i wish i got gaskets and stuff like that in my shipment.

reckless_abandon 08-29-2007 02:05 AM

corky is going to send me a new downpipe, though so i'm stoked about that.

Stephanie Turner 08-30-2007 02:46 PM

The first two batchs of downpipes did not have matching turbine outlet flanges. The turbo on the develpment car had a different flange. Since the original pipe, we have run into THREE (?!?!) different turbine outlet flanges. So the best method is to send me a photo of the turbine outlet flange so we know which one to use. As for fitment with the exhaust, it bolts up in the stock exhaust location.

akaryrye- if I had known the bung was not there, I could have sent a new pipe or fixed the one we shipped to you.

Out of curiosity, has anyone talked to Tony? Rumor mill down here has him indisposed of, but do not know how true it is. If you do talk to him, tell him 'Hi' for me.

hmm, i wish i had known about the turbine flange issue before i had mine made. looks like i'll find out next week if it fits. :-)

Stephanie Turner 08-30-2007 03:14 PM

We are trying to make one universal flange. If it does not fit, let me know and we'll take care of it.

devin mac 08-30-2007 04:01 PM

no problem. i'll test fit it to the turbine as soon as it shows up next week.
