so i tried to tune the rx7 afm and when i turned it clockwise it made it run leaner unlike the diagram shows i turned it about 10 clicks? is that to much to make it run lean??

nevermind i figured it out but what will it hurt to run it without the bLACK PIECE ON THE TOP?

no. you need to loosen it actually iirc.

i also think my diagram labels are wrong, like what will tighten or lean...something like that. cant remember.

so now i have it idling at about 13.4? is there anyway to make it idle at 14.7 but run 12.0 at wot???

with 1.8L injectors you should still be able to get a perfect idle.

you can try drilling out the cap on the outside, uncovering the idle-mixture screw. Then back this out a tiny bit until you see 14.7:1.

I never had any trouble getting 305s or 265cc injectors to idle at 14.7:1 with just little adjustments to the flapper tension....

up top, the AFM isn't going to change your mixture.
