Default Turbo choices for 1.6

Hello

I've got a BBR turbo running a Saab T25. At the moment i'm running 12psi and the T25 is at its working limits. So which turbo should i go for next? Will a T28 be too laggy?

A search will turn up some good results. People on here are running T3 without problems so I dont think T28 will lag much.

I replied to your thread at Miata.net. I would suggest that you PM a moderator here immediately and ask them to close this thread, because you have inadvertently invoked the worst internet ****-storming you've ever seen. This is not M.net, we will not be polite about telling you that you need to help yourself and use the damn search function.

This is not a hand-holding site. We will not feed those who do not feed themselves.

hahahaha, if I knew this guy posted this same **** on m.net I would have just told him "search noob".

So in light of this new evidence:

SEARCH NOOB!

The guy who linked you to this site told you to SEARCH for a reason. Note how he didn't tell you to POST.

We should really ban new users from starting threads until they have 50 posts.

How much power do you want and what is your intended purpose for the car? Are you looking for a drop in replacement?

I like my GT2554R, I like to autocross and I'm willing to give up ultimate HP for near instant spool.

Sadly plugging 'BBR' into your super search did very little.

As for power, i'm getting tired of the T25 letting me down above 6krpm. Its managed to survive over 90k miles though so i shouldn't complain.

So ideally i'm looking for a turbo which is as flexible as a t25 but won't die at the top end.

Lots of road and track use. I'm currently racking up around 2000miles a month.

As for a drop in replacement. I don't think there will be one other than a saab fit T25 or TDO4.

So i'm not adverse to doing a little 'modification'

jesus ****, you have to actually do something...the information won't come to you. Just type in what you're looking for "big black **** up my ***" and you'll get exactly what you're after...------.

ah, the hostility, we are getting meaner by the day.

In nicer words, you need to learn a bit more about turbos before making calims what is possible or not or even trying to decide what turbo to go with. Spend some time studying and reading posts here in general to get a better idea of what you are talking about, cause honestly, you sound like you don't know ****.
So study, search, read, repeat, and come back in a little while once you are a bit more knowledgeable on the subject and show that you have tried to figure it out and people will give you much better answers. Remember, we are no here to spoon feed you, but to help you along the way. Cheers.

-you are luck Samnavy is on a selfban, otherwise your ******* would be hurting right now.

Right at the end of the day my Saab TB2529 - 465181 0002 has seen the best of its days. The Saab TDO4-15-5 will foul the block. Then again most of you on here won't have seen a BBR manifold in the metal to know what i'm up against, mainly due to your steering racks been on the wrong side so you all end up with a level or upward facing manifold.

I could sit and compare compressor maps all day but to be honest i can't really be bothered. Since i know the GT2554R-471171-3 will have a more favorable working area than a TB2529-465181-2.

At the end of all this it boils down to people experiences of said turbos on B6P units and what they regard to be advantages and disadvantages.

The hostility on this site has spiraled out of control. Its almost like everyone prides themselves for coming across as rude and uncouth to any noob who makes the mistake of starting a new thread, even if the question is fairly valid, which it is in this case IMO.

The poor guy is from the UK and has a car which nobody has stateside. Like he said there are some restrictions on turbo size, because it hugs the block too close. If you guys are asking him to search, atleast tell him a few search terms. Real ones, not what hustler posted.

Waitey, you need to do the following things to survive here:

1) Stop posting part numbers of random turbos.

2) Ask for what search terms to use. Atleast 50% of the answers will contain obscenities so be prepared for that.

3) Post a few pics of your present setup so everyone knows you're genuine. And that you have a genuine issue.

4) Ask a more specific question after doing some research.

unfortunately "nudes of hustler" turns up nothing or I would have sent him there. You can search high and low, or I can just tell you the answer is gt2560/gt28r. You can find more information on turbo sizes in my book, **** I made up about turbos on 1.6's.

seriously though, that's the right size for a turbo that sees track time and keeps EGT's happy with the little baby motor from my endless research and indecisiveness.
