A big one.

But seriously that's not enough info. Goals? Budget? You'll get better results if you read through some build threads and see what others experienced than if you just ask us questions.

Then you use the same turbo as everyone else in existence, in 90% of those build threads you've been checking out.

2560.

Yeah I've seen them. its seems like a relatively small turbo tho. i mean I'd like to go with more power but Im not sure what these tansmissions can handle.

Do you want to go with more power, or do you want the 275-300hp you just told us you wanted?

Make up your mind.

Here's a chart Soviet made that might help you figure out what your goals are:

If you want as much power as the engine can handle (assuming you do a few upgrades) you gon break **** on the street.

^Troof.

Motor in our car isn't the most insane thing in the world, but if i did the work to push it, nothing else in the car would hold together. Nothing.

Know what i would do, OP?

Ever been in a 250whp Miata?

I'd shoot for 250whp. Get an FM2 kit with the 2560, run it on stock motor. Transmission will survive, it'll last forever with a good tune, and it'll be cheaper. Still fast.

Because... and stay with me here... you won't get a built motor, turbo kit, clutch, standalone, fueling, etc etc etc all for your $4k budget. $4k gets you a turbo setup.

Spending another couple thousand just to make another 25-50hp is dumb.

Why do you care how small it is? It gets it done and nicely. To be honest I wouldnt mind if it was a little smaller and still get the same gains. For me Id rather run the smallest turbo possible to reach my goals within reason. Why? Well there are several reasons including spool. Remember, are little motors have to spin the turbo.
