Default wastegate bolt sheared. 5/16" JP -> 3/8" US ?

hey guys, ive been slowly working on installing this thing for the past weekend. i came across a sheared bolt on the wastegate, i tried to drill and easy-out it...and the easyout snapped inside the bolt. (just my luck) so i brought it to a local machine shop to have them drill the bolt out and i also asked them to retap it for 3/8" US size bolts instead of the retarded 5/16" jp wannabe bolts.

should i still run grade 8s on it ? or will grade 5's work ok ?

Scott

If possible run 8's if you can find them. I run as much high quality grade 8 hardware that I can.

yea, ive been slowly changing all my hardware that has strain on them to 8's. but their such a pain in the *** to track down. most auto stores, pep boys, auto zone, kragen only carry 5's. and 2's...

Two words: Ace Hardware. Those folks have an excellent fastener selection. SAE Grade 8, Metric Class 10.9, stainless, the works.

Online. Mcmaster.com. Search for "Grade 8". Cheap and fast shipping. You might have to buy 50 though. Still under 10 bucks probably.
