949 Racing 11" Wilwood BBK
We have taken the just released Wilwood front big brake kit, made a few tweaks and called it our own.
Now taking orders for the first shipment around October 10th. To sweeten the deal we're including free shipping for the any paid orders by Oct 9th, 11pm EST.
The standard 140-11704 Wilwood kit ($634) does not include brake fluid ($16) or lines ($66). We add them in, lower the total price and throw in free shipping to the 48 US states.
Options include our own custom designed directional race rotors (plain, not slotted or drilled) and Carbotech brake pads. Pricing is available on the website so click the links to see what it'll cost for the combination you want.
Our kit includes everything shown. We won't actually be offering the standard Wilwood kit missing lines and fluid. Plain rotors only, no drilled, no slotted, no fancy plating. Just functional race rotors.

This is an off the shelf wilwood kit. It and replacement parts can be bough just about anywhere. Finally wilwood stepped up to the plate and put it on the market for the price it should have been all along. Emillio just made it a better deal yet.

The standard 160-5840 Wilwood straight vane rotor is available everywhere as are the 7112 plate brake pads. The optional directional vane rotors are only available from us for $94 each.
Hat offset is different that the Corrado rotor.
Only one line length. If you have modified your car to require different lines than everyone else, you'll likely need to make your own custom lines.
Bracket and hardware is $45 each (one bracket), Hats and hardware will be $60 each (one hat)

I have a feeling these will be selling like hotcakes.
What do the Wilwood hats weigh?
--Ian
Friction ring "rotor" is 79 each for the straight vane, 94 each for the directional vane.
Goodwins V1-V3 kits uses the same 160-5840 straight vane that is standard in this kit. The hats are light, that and caliper weight are where the weight reduction come from. Haven't bothered to weigh the hats as it doesn't really matter much in the grand scheme.

BTW a bit off topic - I have a used goodwin kit, and the slots on the RH rotor appears to be backwards. (I imagine they're supposed to sweep the dust outwards) Can I simply turn it over? Re-use the fasteners? Or would it simply make no difference?
Adding ducts is more important than most people know, make or break on a lot of track cars. No ducts, no brakes after 3-4 laps. The next step for cars that barely have enough brakes even with ducts is adding fans. Either a Y mouthed duct with a fan in one mouth, or a just a single duct with a fan. For your typical 2200lb, 200whp turbo car on NT01's and 15x9's though, just having functional ducts up front will do the trick.

These rotors are cheaper than I can get my stock ones for locally. It makes almost no sense to keep stock brakes
These work on the 01+ with sport brakes right? What is different about the 03+ Miatas that makes these not work?

As I understand it, the front lines are provided with the kit. For those of us making this our first brake upgrade, can you provide the rears with the kit for some extra coin?
DP4 will not be an option.
No matching rear brake kit available. Our Sport Brake rotor rear BRK will balance out thermal capacity and torque but add weight instead of reducing it.
We'll add a menu option for adding matching rear lines
Compatible with OEM Sport Brake spindles (same spindle as non-Sport)
We're working on a matching rear version of this kit. Maybe early next year for that.

Is that something that could potentially change with substantial interest? I'm not sure if there are additional fitment issues to be concerned with, but the price difference is obviously negligable.
Thanks.
Thanks.
