949 racing engine mounts 1.6 vs 1.8
Hey everyone.
So I ordered the 1.8 5 speed 70 duro mount from 949 racing. I meant to ask if it worked for the 1.6 5 speed, but i didnt. Needless to say, they arrived (im away though so i have not seen them)
My question. I Thought the mounts were the same for the 1.6 and 1.8. Are they not? Is it alot of work to modify to make it fit? The car in question is a FM2 turbo 92 1.6.
Next question. 949 is out on vacation. Lots of people here deal with them. What I want to know....Am I stuck with these things, or are these guys generally cool and will give my money back or credit for 949 money? Im a big lurker.....but it seems like I should be ok.
Third question. Lets say no point to modifying to fit if they will take the return without hassle. Do they not make the mounts for the 1.6? Who does? Im not looking fro replacement rubber, I want proper mounts. Do it once, do it right...right?

1.8 and 1.6 mounts are the same. I see no reason why TSE's mounts would be any different. The bracket that bolts to the motor and to the mounts IS different, but the actual rubber mounts are the same.

I think OP is referring to the SuperMiata mounts. The ones that replace the stamped factory metal parts.
The 1.6L and 1.8L brackets that bolt to the block are different. I'm not sure on what exactly is different, but it is unlikely they will just bolt in. It appears that MiataRoadster lists similar looking mounts with an option for the 1.6L.

Yes I am looking to replace the entire mount. The ones I bought are these
SuperMiata Race Motor Mounts 90-05 Miata
I have a 1.6 motor. Looks like I bought the wrong one and by the sounds of it, it will not work at all in my application. Bummer
