Default DIY 18 Stage Sequential Shift Light

I just wanted to give a DEMO of a Sequential Shift Light I built for my miata. I've had this working for a few years now but have been too busy with work to do to many track days. I'll be at Laguna Seca in a week so I'm finally getting around to some miata projects now and wanted to share this with you guys.

The set up is 18 WS2812 RGB Addressable LEDs powered by an Arduino.
I'm using the tach RPM signal as an input.
It has a turn pot for on the fly brightness changes.
3D Printed enclosure
Current configuration uses 19 stages with 5 different colors
-6 Green LEDs
-4 Yellow
-4 Violet
-4 Red
-18 blue flashing at Set Shiftpoint

I typically set this up to start at 5000 RPM and flash blue at 6800 RPM which is 100 RPM per LED.
Shift light was set from 1000-4000 for DEMO purposes so I wouldn't have to rev the engine so high.
I'm going to play around with the colors and settings at the next track events to get a feel for what works best.

Very cool, anyway you have a blog post or possibly a DIY setup on how you did the project? I have been wanting to do this for a long time with my Megasquirt but so far my success has been limited to making a single shift light work, not a sequential system.

Nice!!! Would be sweet to see a full write-up on this...not a lot of other options on the market, and the ones that ARE available are pretty expensive. I purchased a "Trac-Pac" sequential shift light from Fastlane Innovations for our endurance car, and it lasted all of four or five laps of a testing day before it crapped out :\
