yeah, on a n/a honda it would be devastatingly loud. on a small frame turbo'd miata, it'll hum a little on the highway, and sound powerful on wot.

The muffler currently on my Miata must be worse than I thought. Stock piping, cat, etc., DC Sports muffler. It is really not that quiet when cruising around. Granted, its not turbo right now, but...

Speaking of AZ, I daily with this and its tolerable. At WOT it sounds beastly but not obnoxious.

3" 16ga stainless to 21ga 3-5"

I hate to say it but you're wasting your time making a "straight pipe" with those sharp angle bends. Exhaust doesn't do corners. Each sharp turn is creating more flow stagnation. Get a U-bend and cut those corners out and replace them with smooth bends of any radius.

Not necessarily. The horn slows down the gas flow as it exits the pipe (though only a little).

Real talko you think that it causes that much restriction? If i Use radiused Bends instead will it be of benefit? Not too much extra work. It was just what I had available and at the time, couldn't justify the extra $70 for one U-bend

yes, it causes that much restriction and is worth $70 to add the bends.
