This is why the Miata has the best community
Moving to COTA, I'd say the horsepower war has just started.

I saw that the prize for winning limited was $500 in Fortune Auto Credit. Looks like Ryan is getting a suspension upgrade for next year...

I believe I heard Ryan talked to Jerrick and is getting hooked up with a set of MeisterR GT1's. 2019 is so the year of MeisterR.

I was not aware that you were trying to build a plane. I can say with 100% confidence that the MS devloper's do not recommend using a MS to run an airplane.

Still a ways to go, but not a bad first attempt at a Mercedes CLR impersonation.

It's painfully obvious they didn't bother reading the rules, and being the first EV, tech inspectors weren't thinking about the rule that the protest was based on either. The rule was written when EV's weren't even a thing, and they will be updated for 2019, but they are not ones to do mid season rule changes to accommodate people, say like Gridlife lol.

They definitely capitalized on the DQ though. They were offered to be moved to a class where the car was currently legal per the rules, but opted to take the DQ instead.

They even had another guy go out in the car to set times even though in Enthusiast class the driver must be on the car's registration. That right there is enough to tell me they only skimmed the rules at best, and the rule they got DQ'd on I would have definitely emailed the tech steward about prior to showing up at the track.

They got DQ-ed for "electricity is not listed as an approved fuel", but there is no requirement that it uses "fuel". Car was not as heavily modified as many others in the class and being DQed because not using something that is regulated but not mandatory seems like a case of serious "butt hurt". Poor management and rule application on the part of organizers.

Marriam Webster:

fuel

noun, often attributive
fu·el \ˈfyü(-ə)l \

Definition of fuel

1a: a material used to produce heat or power by burning
b: nutritive material
c: a material from which atomic energy can be liberated especially in a reactor
2: a source of sustenance or incentive : REINFORCEMENT

Cambridge dictionary:
fuel noun [ C/U ]
US /ˈfju·əl, fjul/
a substance such as oil or gas that is used to provide heat or power, usually by being burned

Cool. So which fuel did it use to produce the electricity again?

How do you know it wasn't nuclear? Is plutonium an exotic fuel? Do you see where I'm going with this?

How do you know it's not a hamster in tiny wool socks in a hamster wheel made of amber? The rules don't say the car can't be under electric power, they just say that fuels can be of certain kind.
