We are 100% positive that these are legal for Lemon/Chump/WRL/NASA/SCCA?

My buddy races his 2013 Corvette Grand Sport monthly at Sebring with Chin Motorsports. He purchased a HANS device from the U.K.via eBay a couple of months back and has already run 2 events with it. It was $312 (free shipping) and delivered within a week.

Buying 20 of them will definitely be sketchy with imports. I'm in if there is a guarantee on the cost.

I wish I would have seen this earlier.

My order has already dispatched.
Will report once it arrives.

Just fyi though....years ago we found a european site for adventure motorcycling gear that was way cheaper than what you would pay here and after a couple of us ordered they stopped shipping to u.s. And some items never arrived.

Not sure if thats relevant but wanted to throw that out there.

Well,
I guess the best assurance we can get is this:
- reports from past buyers from this shop
- paying with credit card or paypal so that we can file a claim/dispute in case something doesn't work out

On price guarantee - they give a price for 20 units + shipping cost per each. That's as much of a guarantee as we will get. They can ship all 20 in a big box and it will be slightly cheaper, but then we have to pay for local shipping (which will be no less than $16-20 due to size and based on destination at retail rates) but then we are much more likely to be hit with import duties as 20 units looks a lot more like business purchase than personal.

I'm in no rush to get HANS as I don't get to the track nearly often enough, but thought others could be interested. So far I don't see enough people saying they would be "In for the deal" to make this work, so maybe we don't have the numbers.

Just to clarify..

I dont think the shop has any bad intentions. Its the American distributors who wand to end the party.

Yea, the price polices for US and EU are way different. I wanted to buy a bunch of stuff from EU because their prices were 1/2 of what we pay here for the same brands, but they wouldn't ship and told me to go to US distributor...which, of course, killed the price appeal.

Honestly guys I would get your orders in while you can and not even worry about the gb discount.

The deal is already substantially doscounted and it would stay off the radar longer.

I think we can get 20 people, maybe if we make separate post in For Sale section and tag it as Group Buy? Not sure if this is allowed though.

Technically it is not allowed, but I know none of the mods will complain, and I am doubtful the vendors who do sells Han's will either. I honestly don't think you will get enough people right now to do it. Along with organizing it, collecting money, and all that jazz.

I don't mind doing it if we have enough people and I definitely do not want to overstep the rules on the forum and get banned. I think we can get this done a lot easier if we post on other forum or two though.

Default Mine arrived today

safe and sound. No drama.

Initially makes cats weary, but they warm up to it pretty quick.

So is it not a "HANS" (brand name) device?

Do they not sell the simpson one here because of the hans patents?

Yeah, and yours is made by schroth. And mine is only branded hans.

And this one is apparently made by stand 21.

People licensing the brand name maybe?

They've licensed the HANS name to scroth and stand21.
