rinseless wash and waterless wash are different things. as is instant detailer.

Rinseless wash: ONR for example. Add like soap to water, dip rag/mitt in, wipe car off, dry with clean towel. does the dirtiest jobs short of caked on dirt etc.

Waterless wash: usually diluted but used like a spray product. spray on the car, let dwell, wipe off with clean towel. does semi-dirty jobs. good for stuff that may or may not come off with a swipe of the finger. e.g. lots of dust over many days that's been rained on.

instant detailer: super light duty. usually only for cars that see a couple days worth of dust and are garage kept so the dust doesn't turn into mud. also works well for urgent spot cleaning, but I'd probably rather go with a waterless wash over an instant detailer because it is likely safer.

I have some students from the local nursing college give my car a sponge bath when it needs it. Everyone seems to enjoy the experience.

I have no windshield on my race car and it is easy to wash. Just don't be a three year old with the hose.

Although for an autox car, washing it over rated. My regular routine after an event for cleaning the car is to vacuum/remove the 2-3 pounds of rocks and OPR strips. the fenders by the door probably end up holding a pound each.
