Was it 160 SAE corrected? Because that can change things dramatically, although likely not that much. On a 75f day my car made 141 STD correction, 136 SAE for NASA. Using STD correction on a cool day is an easy way to get inflated numbers on dynojet. Granted, from 160 down to 134 sounds like you've put that thing to use, ha.

IDK, the original tune was on a mustang dyno, so if anything I was expecting to get a higher number going to a dynojet.

The 100tw credit isn't enough to make up for the sheer pace of Hoosiers, but this is going to be my HPDE/regional setup if there aren't enough cars in class for HoHo contingency.

15x9.5 Konig Freeform with 245/40/15 RC1. Well inside the 2400lb/257mm template and fits under an NA with a roll, pull and race camber. My NB has OEM un-rolled fenders as shown, but will need a flat roll to function on a track.

For science I also mounted up a 225/45/15 Hoosier R7 on a 9.5" Freeform and a 9" 6UL. The 225 Hoosier is the most 'normally' sized Hoosier I have hands on experience with. It looks 205-on-a-9-happy on the 9.5".

Mustang dyno's can easily be manipulated to read high all the time. In order for you to lose 30WHP in two years something would have to be majorly wrong. My engine has been making about the same power for years and hundreds of hours on track and has seen a nearly 9000 RPM over rev from a missed shift.

Did some ST5 "racing" this last weekend at Road Atlanta. Car counts in NASA Southeast are pretty dismal (outside of SE30 and SM) so only one other ST5 car to play with, an e36. It was mostly a test weekend and a "check the box" weekend for the three ST5 race weekends I have to do before Nationals. Which I'm registered for...

Currently the car sits at 143 whp peak, 136 average, 2400ish pounds. 9LR ****, homemade front aero, 225 R7s on 15x9s, SA Tractive dampers with 1000/400 springs, stock sways (because PTE hangover still)...so not really ST5 at all!

I have a 11:1 VVT motor with head work that should be able to make 160+ on E85 and a six speed ready to go in the car, just need time to swap them in. I'm also planning on switching to 1100/600 springs and real sway bars as the car is way too rolly polly now, especially with the aero.

Won on Saturday, broke a balljoint on Sunday (?). Didn't go especially fast. Should have been in the 1:40s but never got out of the 1:42s which is what the TTE record is. It was pretty hot in the afternoons though and vmax down the back straight was down 3-4 mph compared to last year in TTE with cooler temps. An extra 25hp should help?

I feel like this is a common theme for a lot of the NASA regions... I've been trying to push some people towards ST5 locally but it's hard to convince people when I'm not able to be out there running yet either.

Spec Miata just blew up in our region which put a huge damper on the effort to get ST car counts up. Before last year nobody ran SM out here in AZ now they have like 5 to 10 car fields. Then there is a decent amount of Spec 944, and then a handful in GTS and then some in ST2 and ST3 and that's about it.

Get all those bugs worked out and get the 11:1 VVT in there and you'll be at the front easy, just need to pull more people into the class.

I was at Road Atlanta as well, but in TT5.

It took me many sessions to figure out the new 6spd + MR tall/angled shifter. Data says I suck and I never carried speed into and through the corners like I normally do. So my times were pretty meh.

Similar to Luke, I'm running my TTE build "on steroids" :
2320lbs
130rwhp avg / 135rwhp peak
DiY front aero
9LR 65" swan-neck big ****
205 R7s on 15x8 6uls
800/500 Xidas 1.125"f /14mm r

Slow lap, but man this gearing is WAY better. As I mentioned, there's a slight learning curve on the shifter.

RE: ST5 car counts.

I think I'm going with TT5 for most events and my w2w events will be concentrated on GLTC. This means I need more power..... like 30-35 more hp. Maybe an occasional ST5 event if we get enough people together to have some fun. I'll only be doing 2-3 w2w events a year anyways.

Dead thread is dead.

But also, I’m not sure who needed to hear this, but a 245/40/15 on 9” does not clear 257mm.

I think our 225 R7 on a 9.5 is daewae.

15 in ST5 at Mid Ohio this weekend. Crazy turnout considering NASA NE is at Watkins and a couple of our regular crossover guys are over there.

I really wanted to make this Mid Ohio event in ST5 too. Life happened though :-\

I know Luke McGrew is going. He typically runs GLTC with his NC. I suspect he should do pretty well.

NASA Great Lakes seems to be doing really well in ST5 and 6. Wish NASA-SE had more ST racers...

This weekend at the Glen: 15 Spec Miatas, 13 in GTS2, 6 in ST5 and 3 in TT5

I'm really hoping to get into DE3 this weekend. My tires didn't arrive even though I ordered them a month ago. So I just have to take care and hammer the fundamentals

Anyone have a 225 R7 on a 10? Someone posted on the other thread that it clears the 257 template. I'd love to see what it looks like and if it's any faster than the same tire on a 9.5.

I'm curious on a 245/40/15 R7 on a 15x9 clearing the 257mm template. It does with 17s and is typically the faster setup.

No. I posted a picture in here or the 6 thread.

245/40/15 on 10" clears 266mm ST4 template only by the "Equal to" allowance. No-go in the 257mm.
245/40/17 has to be pinched onto a 9" to clear the 266mm in ST4.

edit:

I run the 225 R7 on a 10 and yes it does clear 257. For sure it is faster on a 10 than a 9.
