I am running RA1's ans am 30under for my class. It is a -7 points. I see that your tire choice is +10 so you are right. Mine is a +7 with the RA1's so I am at a 0 for tires. Wat thinking you might be runningt he RA1's you would be at 0 as well. The points for tires had changed this year and did not know if you were aware of that. From the loosk of you are.
Jsutto13- After I read the rules many times I made a few coppies of the classification form and filled it in and then rechecked to confirm that I had not missed anything. Then made a master copy and one to turn into my local dirrector which happens to be Greg. That way I had a coppy if something went wrong and I didn't have to wory about making another copy for him. It's a great class and a good place to further hone your skills.
Have a great day,
Jared

They are very similar. I think the main thing is that PT is mainly for race cars to give them another class to race in. Example is a SM can run in SM, TTE, and PTE in the same weekend. Now talk about tripple dipping.
Have a great day,

For your reference, down here in S. Florida we have 4 Miatas running forced induction. Here are their base-class, power and weight data:
Me: TTD 165rwhp @ 2400lbs
Vic: TTC 203rwhp @ 2590lbs
George: TTE 178rwhp @ 2529lbs - base class for a MazdaSpeed Miata.
Steve: TTD* 187rwhp @ 2600lbs
The asterisk means +7 pts added to his base classing

I'm running on 225/45/15 Hoosiers on 15x9 6UL rims, although Vic has had good success on 205/50/15 Hoosiers on 15x9 6ULs. That may seem like a wide rim, but the Hoosier is much wider than other 205 tires; it's even wider than a 225/45/15 Toyo RA1.
If you run the narrower Hoosier, you may have enough points for your other modifications. Don't forget the +3 for an LSD if that's on your car.

Hopefully he's running the 205/50R15 SM6 instead of the R6....big difference in price, $164 ea versus $210 ea.

Good point, but Vic and I keep winning tires, so we're on the R6 which is what Hoosier ships for contingency payout. I bought a set of SM6 tires from an approved (by NASA) Hoosier supplier (Phils!) to get started with contingency when I was in TTE last year, and then Vic used them to get his first set too.

As Im impatiently waiting for Miata Challenge to spring up on the east coast, what class would Emilios/Savingtons rental car fall under? TTD/E? Figure 140rwhp and 2400lbs wet with r888s/nt01s/ra1s.
Waiting some track time with my miata and it'll be setup similiar to those rental cars they're making. And Im a complete nub to NASA, I cant seem to find classification like they have for solo2.

Our rental will just squeak into TTD as it sits. We're adding a cage and will do our best to keep it in TTD. Sav's rental should also be solidly in TTD, making a bit less power than mine and also a tad heavier I think.
Miata Challenge is up and running in the East. http://www.emraracing.org/

There is a Turboed Miata that was running in TTR in Midwest NASA region last year (Haven't seen him this year though).
He really was not at all competitive in TTR unless no one else showed up that day to run in TTR though.
