Thanks for all the insight. I appreciate it.
What I do to clean out PS systems is remove the return line from the reservoir and put a fitting with a hose on it into a bucket. Run the car for 1-2 seconds at a time, refill reservoir, repeat as needed.

No drain.. Just disconnect the lowest line and saw the rack. You don't need to get it all out.

Redline is low foaming and high temp. resistant.

While I realize this has no bearing on 99% of people who will read this, I believe that posting any results of a set up may be helpful to someone at sometime.
I have exceeded the maximum tire size for the front of an NA with no power steering. Ran an autocross event with the 23.5X11.5 Hoosier slicks on 12" wheels and the car was down right difficult to drive. The 22X10 on 10" wheels is a "3" on difficulty to turn the wheel at speed. The 23.5X11.5 I would rate a "9.5". I was amazed at the difference. I would say it was difficult enough that it most likely wouldn't work even at the higher speeds and less agressive turns of a track. Got to back to power or the smaller tire.

Thought so. Turn it down to 3.5*. You'll be stunned at the reduction in required steering effort.

Good thought. Sacrificing the camber advantage may be worth it. THanks.

I just stumbled on this topic and figured I could add what we run.

We run a stock NA subframe with all stock P/S parts. (we do use Red Line fluid for the reason GregCuda stated). No trick control arms.

I forgot who said it but we beat you on rear spoiler price. I think we were under $50 (I am cheap).

GuttedMiata, taking caster out will make it turn easier. savington is correct. I have found it easier to drive and faster with the PS. If I were you I would look into a Mini electric P/S pumps.

I might need to go back and look at some of the other replies I wanted to comment on but out of time.
