I could spend time explaining why the Ford 8.8 is the best diff for your application, but you've already scoffed at the price of the swap while professing your love for a $3000 OSG/MSM setup, so I don't even know what the ----.

You insult me with your avatar, then.

And you did tell me about the 5.3 but I forgot. When all you have is a lowly 5.0 everything else seems like an LSx.

If you don't care for the torsen, the Ford 7.5 swap is FAR better in almost every way.

No one knows what an L33 is, minus the V8R peoples...

I created this thread to find answers not to state that I know what's best. So if you have input that can increase general knowledge, please add(Savington), but if you're too interested n telling me that I'm an idiot Ill figure it out one way or another.

Broken axles are not common, even among regular drag racers. My suggestion is that you break one first, instead of fixing a problem that doesn't exist.

I foresee you breaking a lot more ---- in your drivetrain.

Not in my boosted car. Will never launch it hard on a strip.

It will be fine.

On my unboosted car though, i plan to snap the ppf in two.

Listen to this guy, he knows what he's talking about. There will be different failures that you will experience depending on how you use the car. The exact setup and your driving style will also play a big part on what fails first. I intentionally made the axles the weak link in my setup because they are cheap to replace and I could still drive the car home after a failure while I was drag racing. I broke many axles in my attempts to get a consistent 11.5 second street car. There will always be something, you just need to determine what you want to fail first and plan around that if possible.
