Brand: OMP Side or bottom mount: Side Adjustable or fixed rails: Fixed Rail model: Jerfspeed. https://www.facebook.com/jerfspeed/ Old PCI mount wouldn't work, could not pick up rear bolt holes in seat. Driver height & weight: 5'-10" 185lb. 30" inseam Fit in car: Requires recontour/bashing of tunnel & drilling rear mount holes, tight against "still installed NB2 door panel. Driver fit: Great, fits me better in shoulders than previous Cobra Suzuka. Note: Trimmed front of seat to get bolts in with seat mounted far enough fwd for my short legs. Personally, I think any roll bar should be have padding on the main hoop. In the real world, there are some installs where the driver is shorter, seat well away from main hoop. Seat might be entirely blocking some main hoops making it near impossible to smack your head on it. In a few such instances, it might be reasonable to leave the main hoop unpadded. I ran a full containment seat on a HPDE/dual duty NB for a while with a Hard Dog Sport bar. Impossible for any part of me to reach the main hoop without undoing the 6 pts even at my height. On Toiyabe's, the main hoop is basically the headrest and el-cracko time. So everyone needs factor in the risk. When in doubt, SFI padding on the main hoop.

Model: Track Dog Racing Rally Sport 17" (10deg layback) Brand: Ultrashield Size of seat: 17" Side or bottom mount: Bottom Adjustable or fixed rails: Fixed Rail model: Custom (inspired by TDR Low mount but this car had all mounts already removed) Driver height & weight: 5' 8", 180lbs Fit in car: Car had tunnel notch previously installed. It is tight against the tunnel and about 1/8" clear of stock NA door card. However, the steering wheel is perfectly centered. Model: QRT-R (D) / R100 (P)
Brand: Sparco Size of seat: OSFA Side or bottom mount: Side (D) / Bottom (P) Adjustable or fixed rails: Fixed Rail model: Bell fixed rails Driver height & weight: 5'10" / 180lb Fit in car: Tight everywhere Driver fit : Good fit both for my long torso Link to seat or source: doyourownresearch Link to rail or source: https://bellraceworks.bigcartel.com/...-seat-brackets Certifications: QRT-R = FIA 2022 Construction: Fiberglass (D) / Tube steel (P) Weight: light (D) / heavy (p) Spent a good amount of time getting these to fit to my satisfaction. Started with drilling out humps on both sides. I don't see how anyone over 5'7" can fit in a NA/NB without dropping the floor lower. Even without rails a I'm close on a broomstick test the driver side. With a helmet I don't think I'd pass on the R100 side. If you have a NA8 or NB you'll want NA6 seatbelt receivers. The NA chassis has the holes for the longer NA6 receivers, you can see it just above the tiny miata size crowbar. It has a plug that I relocated to the NA8 seatbelt rail thing higher up. Drilling out spot welds. Center punch, high speed, low pressure. Didn't break a singe cutter. (I had practice on an NB in the past where I broke a few HF versions, these came in an amazon 13pk) Not shown, but drill out the 4 on the front trans tunnel member to make hammering much easier. https://cimg7.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.mia...a8bdd7df86.png https://cimg9.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.mia...7f44f5d06c.png Inexpensive ebay passenger seat bracket for bottom mount seats. I cut the two rear tabs off that would normally mount to the rear humps. The ideas is that being bottom mount means bottom mounts from under car now, through those slots. https://cimg3.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.mia...e9596938e5.png Fitting the bracket to the bottom mount R100. Got this width from bolting into the car and tightening up fronts. I needed to enlarge the slots where the bolts are b/c cheap bracket is cheap. Rear bolts come out and longer come thru floor into bottom of seat. https://cimg8.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.mia...308c7a346f.png Driver side bracket. Atech Extreme S2
Model: Extreme S2
Brand: Atech Size of seat: Medium Side or bottom mount: Side Adjustable or fixed rails: Fixed Rail model: Bell Raceworks Driver height & weight: 5'6", 31 waist/28 inseam, 160 lbs Fit in car: Fits very well, my upper door panels are trimmed to fit shoulder wings from previous seats I've had, but this could probably do without the trim. Trans tunnel is bashed in from previous seat/rail combos so this combo would probably need the same treatment to get centered in the car. Overall this has been the easiest seat/rail combination I've installed in a miata. Driver fit: Excellent. The only comment I could make is that the seat is positioned as far forward in the rail as it can be and it's just close enough to the pedals for me to reach (but this really only matters to short guys). The seat has a lot of layback angle making it extremely comfortable and easy to feel low in the car. Bimarco Hummer NON FIA - 96 NA
Model: Bimarco
Brand: Hummer Size of seat: One size Side or bottom mount: Side Adjustable or fixed rails: OMP bottom rail, Bimarco side rails Rail model: Side rails say "QMS" Driver height & weight: 5'7, 230LB Fit in car: Some seat trimming where it touches the door bar, some side rail trimming where it touches the tunnel, very light trans tunnel beating, no hump removal or cutting. Retains OEM doors / door handles. Has Door bars (this is the most obstructive item). seat is justified 1/2" left of center in car. Some heavier trans bashing is required for a more centered fit. I don't notice feel the slight mis-alignment while in car and left it as is. The two rails will need to be welded together - bolt holes don't line up - the side mounts are too wide by about .75-1". The "Planted" seat rails may be a better choice both for "bolt up fit" and adjustability. Driver fit : Seat feels great, snug, still fine tuning leg / head positioning. The seat is rather tall (very similar dimensions to the HTE-R above). Once adjusted for my leg length - front of seat at about 1/2" behind front rail bolts, and reclined to maximize clearance between windowshield and halo wing, the seat is essentially touching the roll bar. About 10.5" between corner of windshield to corner of halo - feels a little tight getting in and out with a helmet on. I will likely try to nudge the recline more and or trim the tip of a wing. I will also likely get a QD adapter for the steering wheel. OMP HTE-R 400
Model: HTE-R400
Brand: OMP Side or bottom mount: Side Adjustable or fixed rails: Adjustable Rail model: Corbeau 22001DBL Driver height & weight: 5'10" 200lbs Fit in car: Excellent - car has a Watson racing floor drop. Driver fit : Good. A bit tight for me at a 36" waist. Certifications: FIA 8855-1999 Construction: FIberglass Weight: 22.5lbs Finally upgraded my seat from Corbeau FX1 to OMP HTE-R400. It was an easy swap out, the only modification was to clearance the left shoulder wing slightly for the roll bar tube to allow full movement to the rear on the sliders. https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/...ae15108c_c.jpg https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/...5e5e48fb_c.jpg |
Sparco Pro 2000 I
Model: Pro 2000 I
Brand: Sparco Size of seat: ~18 inches wide Side or bottom mount: Side Adjustable or fixed rails: Fixed Rail model: Jerfspeed Driver height & weight: 5'9" ~160 lbs Fit in car: Good Driver fit : Okay Link to seat or source: Discontinued Certifications: FIA Construction: Fiberglass Seat fitment notes Didn't have to lower the floor to pass the broomstick test which is good, but the wings are too wide for the stock 1997 door cards. Lots of BFH on the transmission tunnel to get pointed directly at the wheel, to the point where the exhaust heat shied was making contact with the exhaust. I ended up sitting a little too far back with the Jerfspeed brackets for my liking as I had to fully extend my leg to fully clutch in. Switched to PCI adjustable brackets to get closer to the wheel but gave up some headroom clearance. https://cimg1.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.mia...696a918ed.jpeg https://cimg8.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.mia...05e1597a3.jpeg https://cimg0.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.mia...7bbf61b00.jpeg |
i need help, i looked in this thread with no results. I have sat in my Girl friends sparco sprint which i fit in but its very tight. and in addition to that she is on stock seat sliders and i do not clear broomstick test(im slouched in this photo that i am attaching) I am 180-190 lbs, 6 ft tall, and 34-36 waist. I want to put a set of seats in my 2000. I'm looking at a few and have not found a definitive answer anywhere on 4 specific seats. the MOMO Start, MOMO Supercup, or the Racequip seats would love a 16 inch but i dont think it will fit at 24 inch at the shoulders and the OMP TRS-E (also open to other OMP seats in this price point). I have linked them all. Do they fit in the car without modification? I understand some trans tunnel massaging may be necessary. PLEASE HELP

MOMO START MOMO SuperCup RaceQuip 16 inch OMP TRS-E if you are thinking momo start… just go with tried and true sparco sprit and use PCI bracket for tall people. |

I will tell you the super cup will not fit without a trans notch with your height.

really!? Do you have personal experience with the super cup? Because the super cup and start are nearly identical in sizing. However the start is actually wider and longer on the seat base then the super cup.

My 1990 Miata came with a supercup installed using ESR brackets. Tunnel notch was in and was only way it would fit. Shoulder pushed door card maybe 1/4”. And seat was as low as it good go before hitting trans tunnel. I don’t have any photos as I took it out immediately.
