99-00 is 1.125"
01+ is 1.250"
of course you could have also just looked at their website where it gives you a shitload of information about both and why you'd want to use which one where.

Well, I would assume (based on the way they market the bars) it would be a fitment issue not just bar diameter...although I was also unable to think of anything that changed significantly enough from 99-00 to warrant that.
Otherwise, one would think they might just list the two optional sizes that both work on the 99-00 and 01+.
I did finally find in their application guide that the bars are intechangable. Still not sure why the 01+ requires a larger bar though?

Thinking back, I did notice that Emilio lists two sizes on his site as an option. Maybe he's the only vendor that really understands the differences(or lack of differences) and markets them accordingly.

2001-05 Miata (Intended Application)
Our testing has shown that each model of 2001 Miata that we have driven has shown a tendency to power "oversteer" at low speeds. (The models tested include a base model with a 5-speed transmission, a LS model equipped with the 6-speed transmission and Sport Suspension package, and the LS model equipped with replacement KONI shocks.) Each car exhibited a tendency to oversteer at low speeds (under 40MPH) upon acceleration. Inquires with Mazda have failed to identify any specific changes to the 2001+ Miata chassis that might account for this handling trait.
As a result, these findings led us to develop an even larger front sway bar for the 2001-05 Miata. The use of this larger bar (and retaining the stock rear bar) has neutralized most of this oversteer condition at low speeds, and allowed the Miata to exhibit a small amount of understeer at higher speeds. The use of the Racing Beat rear sway bar would negate the benefits this larger bar, and is not recommended. While the smaller 1.125" OD tubular bar we also offer can be used on the 2001-05 applications, we recommend the use of the larger bar.

just giving you a hard time.
I run the 1.25 bar on my 01 on the "soft" hole. the hardest hole was way too stiff for street but worked best with the rear bar installed.
on the softer hole, I run no rear sway and the car is good.
I believe the softer hole is roughly close to the hard hole on the 99 1.125 bar.

According to the FCM spreadsheet, I went from 56% to 49% FRC.
I'm much happier at 49%...nuetral with a bit of oversteer if you push it. With my other rates, the car pushed like a snow plow and ruined the suspension...
