LOL! You are right, it may be dumb. I guess you can say that message was brought to you by Fat Tire. I'm no expert. My only observation is that one oil seemed to coat parts to the point that it was noticeable to the touch. The last thing I want to do is spread stupidity on this forum.

OTOH, Hustler posted compelling oil analysis results on T-6. A bit more scientific than the "finger rub" test.
The one thing I wonder about is the changes in oil formulations over time. It used to all be goodness vis-a-vis engine wear. But lately (last 10-15 years for gasoline oils and last 5 years for diesel oils), it seems that changes have been driven by emissions and mileage more than wear protection. That means oil analysis results posted two or three years ago may no longer apply.
I'm confused. In general.
