Hey guys. I'm building a miata for track only purposes. I am running a megasquirt system. My question is what can i eliminate for the engine compartment that is not essential to the vehicle function with the ecu? So far i've removed the power steering pump, ac coil and condenser, the charcoal can from the evap system, rerouted the coolant etc. Just want the vehicle light as possible and engine bay empty as it can be. Pictures show what was removed so far while i was doing the timing belt. Car is a 94.

 

Look up a pinout for your Megasquirt and a wiring diagram for your car. You can remove what's not connected/used anymore.

 

 

Thank you guys. I have a screw for the ac bracket hole #8 45 mm. Which of the 4 holes is it?

 

It's the one common to the oil pump. It faces forward.

 

You can also eliminate the egr, but you need to block off the intake and exhaust ports. Also, you should do a proper rack depower. Also, did you swap out the AC evaporator from under the glove box?
