Now, go download the NASA TT rulebook and read it about 12 times.
I've read it, and I know that. I thought I read some threads where people have swapped engines and not taken a huge points increase, but have lost a bunch of points for swapping to the NB sub frames. Anyway, sorry for the OT...

This shows me that you haven't read it, or you don't understand it. Go back and keep reading the sections on dyno reclassing.

Also reference the TTE, TTD, and TTC discussion threads on this forum and the NASA TT forums.

Subframe swaps would be a points mod. Engine swaps require a dyno reclass (based on Greg's decision, but i don't know a case where he wouldn't make you dyno reclass).

Two different things...And neither one requiring the other...

It looks like you've decided to part out your NA, take a break for a while and then plan on buying a NB2 next year. I hope it works out just as you have planned.

One thing I didn't see mentioned in all the pros/cons is emissions. If you plan on registering your car for the street, it is really nice to have an early NA because of no OBD-II. And depending on where you live, emissions inspections might be non-existent or at least easier to pass than later cars. Plus, older NA already are or soon will be eligible for "antique" status in many states. That often times comes with the added bonus of no emissions inspections at all. So you can modify to your heart's content.

Seriously the MSM is the best deal out there right now, that model came with a ton of special ****

It's not a bad idea, but I'm going to take a break from track stuff for awhile.

I'm tired of the effort/money involved in a dedicated track car right now.

The NA shell is about to be hauled off.
