I mounted it on the bracket for the accessory belt tensioner and broke two aluminum brackets due to vibration. time to re think how I'm mounting it.

Is the general consensus to mount it high enough that the lines off the cam cover aren't running a downward slope?

I mounted my overflow to the fuse box bracket so I was leaning towards the side of the frame rail, however, I'm concerned that running my lines down hill will guarantee gravity is going to fill the breather tank in no time.

Mine is where the charcoal canister used to be. I’m using bioethanol (E85) and because of that I’m getting about 0.5litres (.52 quarts) of water in there every week. I have to make bigger catch can…

Why does BioEthanol mean you collect water? Just curious.

Well I’m not sure if the “Bio” thing is the cause. All the local E85 cars here in Finland suffers the same "too much water in the catch can" -problem.

Google tells that this is common thing with E85:

one main byproduct of combustion is water. Hydrocarbons/alcohol burning in oxygen make carbon dioxide and water, or as the chemists would say:
HC + O2 -> CO2 + H2O
If you work through the equations, you actually make about a gallon of water per gallon of fuel burned. That always comes out as steam / vapor, though on a cold day or at start-up, you may see it dribbling from the tailpipe.

seems like you have space, perhaps you could use a $10 ebay catch can without baffles to connect to your existing catch can with a small pipe and petcock drain valve

Normal fuel is octane, that combusts and produces water as well. Im thinking it might have to do with the extra oxygen atom in ethanol creating more water during combustion when compared to normal fuel. Or than ethanol can absorb water better than petrol.

Bumping this thread because I found out that with hardtop and windows up, I can smell my catch can inside the car. Going to relocate it as far away as possible from the blower motor air intake.
