Default Trans front cover clutch fork detent broke

Did anyone experience failure with the front cover cracking where the shift fork mounts ?

I had a squeek and decided to replace the exedy slave with oem and as soon as I took the old slave off, the clutch fork almost fell out. Removed the rubber boot to discover that the ball and part of the casting was broken off the cover plate. Did anyone have this experience ? Any suggestion on whether NB or NA cover is better (NB are aluminum while some NA were steel). Now need to get the trans dropped and not looking forward to doing this on jack stands. Does anyone know if RB header will be an interference ?

Do you need a 5 speed or 6 speed one? Everyone who does a K swap has to remove that whole cover and probably trashes it. I might still have mine lying around.

need a 5 speed one. Just wondering how this thing actually broke since it's just there to hold the fork in place

Just chiming in to say there is a difference between NA6 and NA8 forks and fulcrum height.
