Fire Extinguisher Placement
I ordered a hand held fire extinguisher with mounting bracket to qualify for the half point deduction in MC. I know some of you have full systems with multiple nozzles, etc. but for those who have a little handheld one mounted somewhere, where did you put it?
I read that you want it to be within reach while seated and strapped in, but my reach to the passenger side is pretty limited once strapped into the Sparco Circuit with its high sides, and the only location I can really think of within reach is the driver's footwell right in front of the seat, basically under the knees (and I'm not even sure I can reach there while in the harness)

How about the PS side, but just on the other side of the trans tunnel (angled up to put the handle closer to you)? I'm thinking it should be about the same reach-wise as the shifter.
Or you could be rice-tastic. Chrome its body and stick it on the PS A-pillar like the Willippinos did at my high school.

i bought a piece of thick aluminum strapping from a home depot type store and bent and bolted it to the frt. left bolt of the pass. seat. i can flip the lever and pull it off the mount it came with while strapped in. (oh, obviously i bolted the mount the extinguisher came with to the piece of alum.)

I never put too much weight on the "while strapped in" criteria.
I'm pretty sure that my order of operation would be:
1. Stop car.
2. Release harness.
3. Either go for the extinguisher or GTFO.
I wouldn't mount the extinguisher near where I'd expect to be aiming it, like under the dash or deep into the footwell. Reaching into the fire to grab the extinguisher ain't going to happen.
Top of transmission tunnel, side of transmission tunnel, and in front of passenger seat have all worked OK for me.
The lower in the car, the better. I think it is much more common to have an extinguisher come loose, than it is to actually need one.

I had one in front of the passenger seat in the NB. Now I have one in place of the console on the NA track car; the console is removed so I'm not sure if console removal is an option for you. The nozzle is a couple of inches behind the back edge of the e-brake lever. It has not been in the way at all and is easy to reach even belted in.
Hustler you should shove that 45 lb extinguisher up your passenger's *** for better weight distribution.

I'm trying my hardest to resist removing the center console - I've not always had it in the past, but every other cubby, pocket, the glove box, etc. has been removed and I needed somewhere to stash registration and insurance cards plus any little things as this is a street car still.
The bottle got delayed for a day due to hazmat, but I'm picking it up this morning so I'll report back!

So I sat in my seat, harness undone, and reached around to see where the bottle would be accessible in a hurry, and the seat is crazy restrictive - can barely reach the passenger side of the transmission tunnel, and definitely couldn't turn and reach anywhere between/behind the two seats.
The one place I could reach quite easily was under my knees just in front of my seat, and I realized I never bring my knees up high enough to put my feet in that area, so that was unused space anyways. Mounted the bottle there, with the latch facing up and right where my left hand would come down to meet it.

Not to be difficult but I do not think that is a good idea. If the bottle latches come loose then it could easily interfere with or jam the pedals. Even though they are more expensive I would probably go to a remote mount bottle before I did that. Maybe you could put something vertically oriented, like a plate of aluminum attached to the floor, just in front of the bottle to keep it from rolling forward.
I agree about the back wall mount. With the race seats and harnesses I did not put it there for the same reason you did not. It is too hard to reach.
