Just wanted to thank Lars for the awesome service and for driving out on a Saturday morning to deliver my new MKTurbo kit! Everything looks great and I can't wait to get the rest of my setup (ECU, Injectors etc ...) ... jonesin' for some BOOST!

It was great meeting you to. Worked out perfectly timing wise.

I believe this is the largest and the one that Sonofthehill runs.
I'm assuming these are all 50 trim compressor wheels? Have the components been measured to verify the listed specs? Only asking for my curiosity because I bought a t3/t4 that wasn't as advertised. It was listed as a t3/t4 .50 AR compressor, .48AR turbine BUT it's actually a 50 trim T3 compressor with a .50AR compressor housing. Turbine specs are correct. The box it came in has it labeled as model TBCT04E48- listed in the ad. I have measured all this to verify it. Not going to use it though because the inlet/outlet offset is different and won't work with my downpipe.

This is actually the one I bought. Do you have the MK manifold and DP?
I'm gonna buy that turbo too. Just out of curiosity is there a Garrett or other legit turbo that works with the MK kit? Are there any ball bearing chinachargers yet?
No- my setup is all custom. The problem is I built it on a Turbonetics* (actually an eBay) T3 turbine housing which is different than a Garrett. The T3s that are being used here with the MK kit appear to be based on the Garrett designed T3 turbine. The difference is in the offset of the turbine outlet to the manifold flange (inlet). Here's an explanation with pics in my build thread. Also specs eBay T3 turbos vs. Garrett, and images/measures on the eBay T3 I linked above.
Based on what I've seen in this thread and in eBay T3 ads/images, in summary: If you stick with a the small eBay T3 compressor turbos that have a stage 1 48AR turbine OR a genuine Garrett turbo, it would be MK-safe. If you go with the larger eBay t3/t4s that are advertised with a Stage III 63AR turbine, or a Turbonetics T3 turbine, you'll then get an offset turbine outlet that will likely cause issues with MK downpipe fitment.
*edit: I confused my housings. The 63AR housing I used was NOT a Turbonetics, it was a china/eBay piece.

There is an official Garrett turbo that "should" drop right in. You just need the exhaust housing from the chinacharger for the wastegate and v-band exit. It costs $900 from ATPTurbo and I am very doubtful it is worth the premium, but I have never tried. Here is a link to it.

I have bought that one before. Sonofthehill has tried it. I believe he prefers the larger one that I posted a bit above over it.
I believe the only performance difference between the two is the compressor AR size- so a spool/top-end trade off. The 50AR compressor has a larger 3" inlet vs. the other's spec. Here's an eBay T3 Stage III 63AR turbine on the left vs. an eBay Stage I 48AR turbine on the right - note the bottom dp bolt/stud hole for referencing offset. Just something to look out for when shopping eBay T3 turbos in consideration of downpipe fitment.
edit: Well I bought this ball bearing one just now. From the description is says ball bearings are only on the compressor side and based on pictures the exhaust side looks the same as the standard MKTurbo one. If not I will return it and get the one recommended.

No- both the T3 and T3/T4 are the bottom line journal bearing churbos. The T4 compressor is a 50 trim T04E with 50AR housing. The turbine outlet on your turbo DOES look like a fit for the MK kit. Did you want a T4 compressor? The T04B is an older design than the T04E compressor and lacks some spool comparatively to a smaller T04E, but the smaller 48AR turbine and BB will help. Either way the listed specs (if accurate) are capable of 300+hp. What's your goal? You should pull the housings and measure both wheels inducer/exducer when you get it and post them. All eBay turbos should have the chra/turbine bolts checked for torque regardless. I resbond/locktite them before installation.
Here's the T3 I bought. T3/T4 T3T4 T04E .48 A/R 50 TRIM TURBINE 5 BOLT FLANGE TURBOCHARGER
It is NOT as-advertised. It is a stage I T3 and 48AR turbine housing, BUT the compressor is a T3 50 Trim 50AR NOT a T4. I'm going to sell this one because it doesn't fit my downpipe (outlet offset) and the seller (dptmotorsport) wants a 20% restocking fee. Something to check before buying on eBay. T3/T4 T3T4 T04E .48 A/R 50 TRIM TURBINE 5 BOLT FLANGE TURBOCHARGER TURBO CHARGER | eBay

the t04e one is different. it's supposed to be a 64mm compressor wheel t04e 50 trim wheel not a 60mm T3 50 trim wheel.
Shuiend has one of them -- but I dont think he's done testing with it yet.

Correct- which is why I bought it. The manufacturer box label even lists it as a T04e. But when I pulled it out of the box it was obvious it was a T3 compressor by it's size. Here's how it measured up- a T3 50 trim wheel by eBay standards.
And here's pic of it next to my Garrett T04e 50 Trim 60AR:
My point being, if you're shopping these churbos, it's a good idea to measure them and make sure you're getting what you think so you don't end up wondering why it doesn't perform how you expect. The more posts documenting them, the better chance more T3 shoppers will get what they want.

I don't think it does. And herein lies the problem with the inaccuracies of these ads. You can align a collection of specs like AR, but that doesn't mean they're the same. You need wheel sizes. Beyond that you can go on the specs listed and still get something different like what happened to me with the T3 50 Trim I got instead of a T3/T40e that was advertised/spec'd. I have learned that photos play an important role in deciphering the churbos. When I looked at the photos in your turbo ad and the one shuiend recommends, the first thing I noticed was that your's has eight primary compressor blades (hello T4b) and shuiend's has six.

shuiend
What I haven't see until now is a churbo with a Stage III wheel (notice how the turbine wheel is virtually the same size as the outlet) and a 48AR housing like your's. I am willing to bet that shuiend's is a Stage I since it has a T3 compressor, but they don't provide any pics of it.
A Stage I (and Stage II) T3 turbine wheel is smaller and typically "steps down" to the final outlet size.
