I got mine because of towing my boat on the highway. It did it's job well. I am seriously considering removing the FMIC now that the subaru isn't the tow vehicle anymore.

 

How does an fmic help tow a boat? Was your charge air heating up too much from consistent high load?

 

Yes. It doesn't take much to heatsoak that tiny plastic TMIC even at highway speeds, when you basically are under constant positive pressure for 60 miles or so.

Geez, that thing must have guzzled gas like it was going out of style staying in boost for that long

 

between 12-14mpg on the AVG MPG display.

 

Meh, that's probably what you would get if you towed it with a big diesel truck. Not as bad as I thought.

 

I get better than that towing my boat with my Tundra, but it's not a really big boat.
