The kit comes with a lock nut which I can't seem to make work with the pad retainer clip. Any info would be greatly appreciated.

 

After a little contemplation, I put together a slightly different setup then the Wood bolt kit. I decided to use a stainless socket head cap screw and sleeve for corrosion resistance. The main difference is I made a special shouldered nut to facilitate the pad retainer clip retention. Not shown in the pictures is that I safety wired the screw and nut. There is a benefit that can be felt in the pedal.

 

I didn't have any issues with the Wilwood bridge bolt interfering with the clip, but keep an eye on the pad shape right below the bolt. The DTC60s I've been using have a little bump there and although everything went together fine, was causing just enough interference to cause massive uneven pad wear.

 

I could not install the Wilwood nut between the caliper and the clip, there was not enough room. I wanted something that would retain the clip how the head of the Allen screw did originally. I relieved the tubing for clearance for the top of the backing plate of the pad. Although I still had to grind a little of the backing plate to make sure there was no interference.

 

Could you not just insert the pad retainer clip from the opposite side and latch it under the socket head end of the bolt?

 

That is how it was originally, but with the clip in the current orientation. I could not reverse it because the caliper halves are not symmetrical and there is not enough room under the head on the outboard side.
