Default GBC22-350 + Built motor dyno

Hello All,

I just wanted to post my results and experience with this turbo as there isn't a whole lot of information out there on it.

My setup:
VVT motor tuned on a BMM ecu
9:1 84mm Supertech pistons
Ebay rods
Volvo valve springs
All ARP hardware, ACL bearings
All the other supporting mods
Kraken top mount kit with full 3 inch exhaust
Garrett GBC22-350
93 Octane
ID1050x
skunk2 intake manifold with throttlebody
6 speed, 3.63 torsen

I had boost creep issues initially with the turbo and had to port the waste gate. It was almost unable to control the boost at all but after porting it would creep to 10 psi with a .5bar actuator.

It made 310whp/248tq on wastegate (7ish creeping to 10ish psi) before heat soak and 291/236 after heat soaking.

Did 344whp/300tq at 15psi with a hot motor and 90+ degree outside temps. Practically fully spooled by 3500, just a 1-2psi below target.

I had originally planned for a E85 tune as well but was having issues with my flex fuel sensors. The tuner said we could have made more on 93 but I was completely happy with where we stopped.

Waiting for it to dry up to see what she feels like on the street. Cant wait

Wow, that's promising. You've got almost exactly the setup I'm hoping to have in a year or so. Thanks for posting, you're correct in saying that there's not a ton of info on these turbo's yet.

These are just oil cooled, correct? Are you running an oil cooler or monitoring temps?

VERY nice results.

What is peak timing on your 93 octane tune?

Yeah, just oil cooled. No oil temp monitoring or cooling at the moment. Will upgrade my setup later. My Tuner was very surprised with it lol

Here is the timing table.
