Default No CAN output ms3x

Brain-built ms3x and canchecked mfd15 (not the cluster one) CANH & CANL wired to SPR 1&2 per the msextra diagrams (next to the twin black crank wires) and their correlation to trubokitty. I get ~2.1v and 66ohms at both ends.

Absolutely cannot get a connection to the gauge. Ive tried a massive mix of settings in TS and on the gauge; literally sifted every menu related to CAN, different broadcast IDs, different CAN IDs, turning on/off the frequencies, firmware updates...turning on/off the can term, changing the tri files, allofit.

Canin&canout are greyed out in an i/o list but trying to turn it on via i/o menus sets off a MS conflict.

I'm at the end of my expertise here and google isnt helping. Anyone smarter than me got a spoon? i gotta be missing something here

Ha, this is oddly relevant to what I just went through.

What firmware are you on?

I had trouble getting CAN to work on my ms3propnp.
It turned out to be something stupid and simple on my part.
My terminals were not fully seated in the options port connector, so while everything looked like it was connected and the connector plugged into the ms3 there was simply no CAN reading.

If relevant on your setup, double check your terminals are fully seated inside the connector. De-pin and re-pin it.

1.6.1 and whatever current is for the gauge. I really wish it was just a plain wiring issue but i see voltage/resistance that seems correct with the plug in & unit on.

i see issues with people using aem o2 sensors ((one that i do have)) but its just wired to the wideband wire on the 5pin subharness...and ive also tried everything between the 11/29 bit options.

Sounds like you have good connection. I suggest you go back to the start. Set all your CAN settings to default in MS3 and set the MFD15 to the default Megasquirt setting.

All the settings you need to change are under CAN-bus/Testmodes. Copy the settings below and let us know how it goes.

A couple of other settings I forgot to mention:

In oDSS, under General Settings, set CAN Term -> Active and CAN Speed -> 500kbps

Bummer. Their new Gen2 devices don’t have as great documentation as their Gen1s did. Let us know what they say and what works.

Only two devices on the bus - canchecked and ms3?

How did you measure the 66 ohm between can h and l - the internal canchecked termination resistor is only active when powered up and running. And you can't measure resistance on an active bus with voltage.
With just ignition on and canchecked off you should measure 120 ohm, just the ms3 internal resistor.
