So, I bought the flyin miata silicone hoses. Nice pieces.
Working on getting the intercooler plumbed in. The silicone intakes intercooler i have is mounted to the tow hook brackets like the fab9 units, and tucked as high as i can get it. Bumper blocks the bottom 2 rows of the i tercooler, and theres a gap at the bumper. Looks kinda ugly, honestly.
in addition, ill need to modify the silicone hoses, the air guide, some ac stuff, and build all custom ducting. And it's the lowest part of everything up front, touching the bumper cover.
I don't think im a fan of this. Am I missing something here? Or is this just the normal fitment for this intercooler?
Im looking at ordering this one, as it looks like it'll tuck up very nice and tight, solving most all of the packaging problems.
You’ll want to fully shroud all of your heat exchangers (e.g., radiator, intercooler, oil coolers). It doesn’t matter if the lower rows are blocked, as long as there is proper shrouding to the bumper you’re golden. You can see my turbo install thread for what I've done.
I don't know if it'll flow my greater than rwhp goals, but it should.
That looks close to the IC I use in my setups. You can check my thread in the for sale section for pictures. Work decently for a stock motor size wise, and does not block much much air to AC and radiator.
