Default anyone have a pic of a bell #3 intercooler?

I need pics of the intercooler mounted...hopefully with enough room to get air around the intercooler and into the radiator. I am trying to draw some **** up for my impending disaster.

thanks. It looks to me like I'm fucked, again. I should have gone with the smaller intercooler.

have you been on the track in 95* heat, with the scooper, and been able to drive the car? What radiator do you have, and what about AC?

The last couple of weeks here have been in the mid 90s. In that time I did 22 passes at the track, 12 pulls on the dyno, and a TON of backroad runs at 12 psi. Never overheated.

From nose back I have the intercooler shrouded with aluminum, a 22 row oil cooler on top, A/C condenser, Koyo 55mm radiator with Lexan shroud and two ebay 12in slim fans. Below all that I have a solid sheet of lexan running from the chin spoiler running back to the subframe. I ditched the airscooper because the car is entirely too low.

Airflow is the killer with this setup. It'll get to 220 then cycle the fans until it gets back to 190. However, I wired the fans in parallel and threw them on a switch. When I'm going to beat on the car I leave the fans on and see 185, rock steady.

I've got a #2 intercooler and it also essentially blocks the entire mouth.

Thanks for the info, but if it were "killer" then why are the fans coming on? Ever had it on a road course?

I meant it as deal breaker. There's simply too much **** in the way to get airflow to the radiator unassisted under 60mph or so, hence the fans on a switch.

I think that if the fans are coming on when on the highway and the dragstrip, I'd be fucked on a road course. I wanted to get the 12" ebay fans and run them with no shroud, but now I think that's not an option...and I'm not going to make it to the track in late september.

*sigh*

If she runs hot, you end the session. Hot miata on track that could benefit from more cooling > Miata in a garage. R&D...you can do the research...but it has to be tested before you know anything.

Right, I want to be sure I have everything in line before I pay $300 for a track day and can't drive a session.

Yes to the on track, and yes to the 95*, no to the scooper. Stock automatic replacement brass radiator, oil cooler and no AC. Stop being a bloody vag and finish your car already.

You'd rather spend an extra 1000 on stuff you probably don't need, may not cool any better, and will probably end up on the parts pile for another 2 years.
