yep detonation 8-10 times most likely needs more fuel or more cooling, and or more octane. Or all 3.

Is the AFPR with 12:1 hooked up?

Do you know what boost level you were running?

Most definatley detonation is bad ask my stock pistons why #2 looked like it had been put in a pulverizer, or ask braineack about the giant smoke screens he has seen cause pistons where fubard. 1.8's will help but ultimatley a IC or WI is needed to cool the air intake temps unless you plan on buying or building a new motor soon. Also check the fuel filter, make sure everyhting is working. And athrowing a gauge on the fuel system to make sure the pump is still pumping is a good idea as well. If the pressure is low then, the filter is dirty or the pump is going out. If the filter has been changed then, the problem is most likely the pump. Pick up a walboro 190 highpresure frpm lightning motorsports and then retest and you will see a big difference in pressure. GL man

You can get 8~9 on only the wastegate. Loosen it up until it just doesn't rattle and get a boost gauge on there.

more isnt always better. In this case, it would be overkill.

The boost gauge needs to go to any connection in the manifold that sees both boost and vacuum. Please don't blow your car up.

Retarding one degree from stock for each psi of boost is conservative, but you should verify your boost level and fuel first and really shouldn't run more than 6psi without an intercooler or water injection to cool your intake air.
