Default 30-1030 in parrallel on '99

Just got it fired up today for the first time.

As the thread title says, a 30-1030 last used in an '05 RSX-S, running in parallel with the stock ECM on a '99 with a DIY "boomslang". GM MAP and IAT sensors wired externally from the stock harness, Toyota COPs wired sequentially with #3 and #4 trigger signals external to the stock harness.

Built my fueling in Excel using JasonC's concepts of boost comp and "rpm comp" from the AEM forum. Used the 30-1720 startup cal as a basis for my initial ignition map. Once I verified crank spark timing, all I had to do was increase crank fuel pulsewidth and it fired right up to a smooth cold-start-speed idle. Eyesore Dave came over to help with the two-person parts of it and kept me focused on the simple solutions. ("How about more fuel?")

Got a lot of little details to complete (like actually tuning), but I'm in business. Couldn't have dunnit without Brain's MS how-to and JasonC's cam/crank sensor setup. Thanks everybody!

I'll eventually post all the details for someone else to duplicate my setup, but probably not before I have a decent map for driving around on. Right now, it's time to walk the Rottweiler and consume some celebratory beverages.

Congrats on your success. I wish I had it in me to switch over to an AEM.

My idea is to keep the stock ECM doing all the functions like evap and EGR that I don't want to be bothered figuring out how to program the EMS to do. Since I live in LA, and like to breathe, and don't like hard to fix fixit tickets, might as well keep all the smog stuff that doesn't cost power.
