So I just installed BEGI's 1200cc injectors on my built 1.6, Then engine has my intake mani and turbo mani, holset hy35 turbo, ported head with +1mm valves, and cams. I just took out my 550cc injectors, they would idle at 13:1 if I was lucky. I am idling smother with these 1200's at 16:1! I cant believe it.

 

wanna sell me your 550s for $50? I'll give you more, later, when I pull my 460s and sell them.

 

Im assuming you are going to use or are using E85 with those monsters

 

E85 is the plan but its on 100 race fuel for now, I dont have the fuel pump for the E85 yet, Im going to sell my 550s and buy another pump and run 2 pumps.

 

I would like to get a little more for them, they only have around 3K on them, all race miles though. I will think about it and let you know.

Do you have a dyno of the HY35?

 

I might dyno with E85, I'm always building something so if I'm not at the track my car is in pieces.

 

I'm interested to see the spool you're getting from the HY35 as well as the specs of it. Not a lot of Miata people are running Holsets, they're /a lot/ better deal than those churbos....

So cheap. I see them for like 150$. Less than an ebay 3076, and they make more than 260whp. :P

Ha I got my Holset for free, I gave a dodge guy a ride home when his work truck broke down and I got the turbo. The HY's are said to be good for 375-400whp on other cars, some guy made just over 600whp on an HX which has the same compressor housing and wheel but a larger hot side. Full spool is seen right about 4k, but now that I have my cams it seems much smother and quicker, it pushes quite a bit of air at idle now too with I thought was interesting, it feels like a leaf blower at idle coming out of my bov. I know Ive posed this up before but here is my holset next to a greedy turbo, Ive also converted it to be externally gated. [IMG][/IMG]

Also to convert to EWG I guess you tacked the wg shut and...

 

I got rid of the wastegate and arm altogether and filled the waste gate hole. Holset is notorious for not giving any info on there turbos.

had I known more info on these when turbo shopping I probably would have gotten one over my 3076.

planning on running a afpr with these injectors? Also are you planning on a wally 255HP or giving the DW300 pump a shot?

 

I have a 190 right now, I'm going to run 2 of them when I go E-85, shortly after the miata challenge this weekend. I will plum a aftermarket fuel pressure regulator once that is installed.
