Hello I was wondering what the max power a 1.6L engine will handle running a Megasquirt and the appropriate injectors.
Im talking intercooled and free flowing exhaust. thanks

If you want the engine to last, I'd plan on only targeting about 90% of it, max. You have to leave a little bit of headroom to accommodate overshoot.
Now see, I disagree on this point. Stock engines are cheap, so why not just shoot for 110% of it right from the start and go big after it goes boom?
he lives in pittsburgh, good luck finding anything besides cavaliers in the junkyards let alone a miata.
probably 250 stock with every imaginable upgrade and a tuner who ejaculates F1 cars.
otherwise throw gtx rods in it and go for broke.

This isn't an escort, we don't do the GTX rod thing. Ebay rods or M-tuned will handle anything you would throw at it.
Also, realistically the maximum horsepower that an internally stock 1.6 could handle on the street is probably in the neighborhood of 300 at the wheels. Not accounting for the transmission and differential, or a broad useable powerband, if you could actually manage to hold the torque up there 300-325 would be pretty doable IMO. It isn't horsepower that breaks rods, its torque.

I was making more of a reference to the preferences of this community at large rather than the platform. I know that GTX rods are popular with the escort/323 crowd, but there isn't much of a point to them any more given their rarity and price (at least in these circles) when you compare them to aftermarket forged rods.

I think it's an appropriate criticism in context.
Going only by the OP's signature, he is using an HKS manifold, presumably the old log-style cast iron one. He's got a "t25" on it, so God only knows what that means. And to top it all off, this arrangement is sitting atop one of the worst-flowing DOHC cylinder heads ever designed.
I predict that this system will be maxed out well before 200 ft/lbs, regardless of what sort of exhaust system and injectors he has. This is well within the capacity of the stock B6 connecting rods.

You guys scared him so bad he's parting out. We need a covers-ears-and-rocking-in-the-fetal-position smiley.
I saw he was from Spain, so I immediately thought "83 km/h doesn't compute at 6500rpm" (close if he was in second gear) Then I saw, judging from the positions of the number, that the speedo gauge was in imperial units (corresponding w/ 3rd gear), leading me to believe that he only found this image on the web as opposed to this being his actual car (which I still suspect is the case).
On the other hand, we don't all live in locations where the state speed limit is 90mph.

geez guys didnt know i would get flammed for a simple question haha. I was just asking a question for reference. My signiture needs updated I have a HKS cast manifold but its a tubular design not a log mani, I also have a complete 2.5 inch exhaust with no cat.
As for my current turbo i have a chinacharger 2871ish turbo. I had a t25 off a 300zx prior and thats for sale.
I am in the process of selling many of my old parts and have a 1.8 engine waiting for me but i was going to max this engine out this summer if it didnt sell in the next couple weeks while I build the 1.8 with rods and pistons. Once i go 1.8 i will go full 3 inch exhaust tubular manifold and hopefully externat wastegate.
My tuner down the street has the fastest stock internal civic 10.2s on MS so he knows his ****
