At first I thought it looked like it had an extra chromosome in it's DNA, but it's kinda growing on me sense 5 minutes ago. What do y'all think?

*Saw this on MF and thought I'd be a dick and pretty much copy the thread and put it over here.

why would they make that an ND? it looks like an NC with crooked lights. it's a really shitty cgi, I doubt the ND looks anything remotely close to that.

I like it except for the headlights. I hate the "face" that Mazda is putting on everything these days and the headlights here push it over to blech on the front end. And it really does just kind of look like an update to an NC.

what would happen if Mazda went back to the NA but with fixed headlights? surely they have all that tooling around. what would happen to the market if they reintroduced a truly affordable convertible again?

Doubtful they could pass safety and emissions regulations, but okay, as a thought experiment...

...how does the NC (or upcoming ND) compare in price to the original NA (in inflation-adjusted dollars)? Is it actually much more expensive? Or are you suggesting that they could now produce the NA at a much lower price point, since 98% of the research, development, and tooling is complete?

I like the theory behind the car. Supposedly its going to be 2100lbs and some other stuff along the same lines, for the enjoyment of driving.

Has potential. Focus on weight is always a positive. I think they should start a revolutionary new styling trend. Re-introduce the pop-up headlight!!

Don't think that will ever happen. It's all about the wind tunnel now and what's most efficient. Those barn door headlights are definitely NOT aerodynamic..
